Everything connects to everything else. We could not make our meads without the hard and careful work of beekeepers, farmers, tea makers, or our friends in and around the craft brewing industry. That’s not even to mention the bees !

We use 100% Vermont-origin raw honey in all of our brews. The beekeepers & apiaries linked below supply most of the honey we use - sometimes we showcase Vermont’s smallest apiaries in our hyper-local Show Meads. Our dear friends at Briar’s Patch Apiary are just getting their stripes (ha ! ha !) so we’ll link them when they have their website up.

Beyond our honey, we source as many the rest of our ingredients as possible from producers around Vermont:

Golden Rule Mead originally began with the intention of becoming Vermont’s premier draft mead producer. We pivoted to bottling during the tumult of 2020 and never looked back, setting out to get our distinctive bottles into retailers around Vermont. To that end, we decided in early 2022 to partner with Vermont Wine Merchants, who turned our fledgling retail presence into a meaningful retail footprint throughout our state. If you have come across our meads in the wild, it’s probably thanks to their team and we’re eternally grateful for their help. Interested retail buyers should feel free to get in touch with their local representative to find out more about carrying our products. For customers who can’t find our mead in a store near them, just let your favorite corner store, grocery, or wine shop know that you’re looking for it and they can do the rest !

Based in Groton, VT, Artesano allowed us to use their production space and equipment to make our meads when we were getting started - Golden Rule Mead simply would not have gotten off the ground without their generous partnership. You can find bottles of their delicious meads, their in-house partner KIS Kombucha, and other products at retail shops around the state.
